Bon Jovi's daughter arrested

Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, the 19-year-old daughter of Jon Bon Jovi, was arrested at Hamilton College early Wednesday morning after allegedly overdosing on heroin.
According to TMZ, Town of Kirkland police responded to a dorm room on the Central New York campus after someone reported that she was unresponsive after taking drugs.

WKTV in Utica reports emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and found Stephanie alive, taking her to the hospital.
Police told the TV station they found a small quantity of heroin at the scene and arrested 21-year-old Ian S. Grant, of Red Bank, New Jersey. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and will appear in the Town of Kirkland Court at a later date.
WKTV reports further investigation by the Oneida County Drug Task Force, using a search warrant at Hamilton's Dunham Dorm, led to the discovery of heroin, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Police then arrested Bongiovi, also of Red Bank, N.J., and charged her with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana -- both misdemeanors.
Jon Bon Jovi, left, attends a NFL football game between the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium, London, on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. His daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi is seen at right attending the premiere of "New Year's Eve" at Ziegfeld Theatre in New York on Dec. 7, 2011.
TMZ notes that Stephanie is Bon Jovi's only daughter -- and the oldest of his four children with wife Dorothea Hurley.
Hamilton College released the following statement:
"In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation. Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters."
A representative for Bon Jovi refused comment to The Associated Press. The 50-year-old rocker is scheduled to perform at a concert to benefit Hamilton's scholarships and arts programs in New York City's Times Square on Dec. 5.
