Stephanie Decker + prosthetic legs, FRANKFORT, Ky. —Stephanie Decker
was honored at the Kentucky state Capitol in Frankfort, where the
Henryville, Ind. native urged house lawmakers to introduce a bill to
help amputees.
It would require insurance companies to pay for prosthetic devices that include micro-
chip technology.
“I
love the state of Kentucky, but I was very fortunate to live in
Indiana. And the reason being is because of the promise of the
prosthetic parity law. Indiana has that law, and it allows amputees to
have the technology needed to get their life back,” said Decker.
Decker lost parts of both legs while shielding her two children during last March's deadly tornado outbreak.
